Body Type

Before we begin, here is a front and side view of my silhouette (I've always loved that word!) to help you understand my body type.
I think I'm like an apple/boyish/athletic body type merged all into one.
I may be wrong. Eh, what do I know.
Anyways, there you have it.
Up next, some clothing items!

Hello World

Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog. This is actually my second blog, which is an idea I had after poring over hundreds of fashion and style blogs that I like...

After much thought and consideration, examining the pros and cons, and carefully studying the current fashion trends until I was basically a subject matter expert, I decided to give it a go.

Ok. I lie like a fly. I'm no fashion expert, fashionista, or anything of the sort. But I do enjoy seeing the way people's personalities are expressed through their styles... and I think it would be fun to do a little experminent I cleverly titled Styled By U. This blog is going to give you a chance to express your personal style on me, your very own life-sized paper doll. Hence, I will be Styled By U (see? told you the title was clever...).

This is how it will work:

I'm going to post every single item of clothing I own, including shoes and accessories. Don't worry, I don't own that much stuff, which is all the better to get your creative juices flowing to remix the little bit of stuff that I DO own in as many permutations as possible (yes, I DID just use a mathematical term in a fashion blog. I told you fashion was NOT my area of expertise.)

Every weekday, I'll wear to work whatever outfit is put together by a reader chosen out of the millions of comments and suggestions left on the previous post (why, of COURSE I plan on having a million followers... ambitious much?). I realize that some outfits might be out of my comfort zone, because I am quite conservative in my personal style (You will rarely catch me wearing more than 3 different colors on any outfit. Let alone mixing patterns. But I do think it looks really cute on some of those fashionistas out there...). As time goes on though, I hope I get more and more comfortable taking some risks and wearing more daring suggestions.

Ok, at the risk of making this introduction turn into a snooze-fest, here are a few ground rules:

1. Don't be mean! Don't leave suggestions of outfits that would make me look heinously ridiculous or that you would never wear.

2. Make it Modest. As I said, I'm pretty conservative, not only in style but in how much skin I'm willing to show. I'm not into showing cleavage or too much leg, so please keep that in mind. (I do own some short dresses that I wear with leggings underneath, so you could make suggestions that I modify to become a bit more modest.)

3. Keep Cool. I live in the southwestern part of Africa, where it NEVER gets cold. Seriously. Our temperatures range from 70 - 90 *F (18 - 30 *C) year round. So please keep that in mind when suggesting items to layer :)

4. Don't Dread the Dreads. Ok, this isn't really a ground rule... more like a suggestion: Although I don't wear any jewelry or make-up (except for the occasional swipe of mascara and my trusty chapstick), I am open to suggestions on how to style my hair. I know dreadlocks are an unconventional style but there's a lot one can do with it (when 'one' isn't lazy me :S)

That's all I can think of for now.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let the fun begin!!!
